Farmers often get a tiny share of what you pay at the supermarket. Research by the food charity Sustain found a beef farmer could make around 0.1p profit on a £3.50 pack of burgers, and an apple grower about 3p on a £2.20 bag. We think that is wrong.
Not a Supermarket lets anyone who grows, rears, catches, bakes or makes food sell straight to you. No middleman taking a big chunk. The shop sets the price, the money goes straight to them, and you get food that was in a field, a dairy or an oven days ago, not weeks.
How it works
- Find farms, farm shops and makers near you on the map, or browse by what you want.
- Order from as many shops as you like. Each shop has its own little shop front and checks out separately.
- Collect or get it delivered. Pop to the farm (we give you directions), use their local delivery, or have it posted.
